Description

It is one of the most magnificent and ceremonial squares in Minsk. Originally the square was called “Round”. In 1954 Victory Monument was erected in the center of the square to commemorate the feat of the people during the Great Patriotic War. The four facets of its pedestal are decorated with bronze relief thematic images of the episodes of the Red Army liberation battles and combat activities of partisans in Belarus. The obelisk is crowned with the replica of the Order of Victory.

The eternal flame is lit at the foot of the monument. People come here to honor the memory of the millions who died and to lay flowers.
